7th National Von Schrader Associates Convention A Hit!
I can hardly believe that we've had another year pass by and our 7th National Von Schrader Associates Convention was held at the Coronado Spring Resort in Orlando, FL.
Von Schrader Staffer Mark Marzahl devoted a lot of time getting the Convention program prepared. The overall program and format was outstanding and... (read more)
Von Schrader Company receives
Green Seal Certification!
A growing trend in the cleaning industry is for products to provide an environmental reassurance, if you will, so as not to contribute to the deterioration of our ever-increasingly fragile environment. This is a tricky balance of performance and safe products. The products after all, have to bottom line, do exactly that, perform. Sacrifice should not be made for product efficiency in search of being “Green.”
The Von Schrader Company submitted our Anti Re-Soil Low pH Detergent concentrate for certification and has since received the Green Seal of approval. This product meets all the criteria as regulated by the Green Seal standards.
Green Seal is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the environment and transforming the market place by promoting the manufacture, purchase and use of environmentally responsible products and services. Founded in 1989, Green Seal provides science – based environmental certification standards that are credible, transparent and essential in an increasingly educated and competitive market place. As the leading certification body, Green Seal has pioneered identifying and promoting environmentally preferable products.
A member of the Global Ecolabeling Network {GEN}, Green Seal is a multi – attribute program - it looks at the entire life cycle of product from the raw materials used to make it to whether it is recyclable or disposable.
Standards must meet the US Environmental Protection Agency {EPA} requirements, International Standards Organization {ISO} requirements and the requirements of third party certifiers.
Green Seal is listed under approximately twelve state purchasing policies, and several local municipalities purchase green products based on Green Seal certification.
Green Seal works closely with the US Army, the US Department of Energy, the US Department of Interior and the U.S. Postal Service. Products that have Green Seal certification are also listed in the state of New York’s purchasing guidelines for schools.
Without question, the so-called greening of the planet is critical. Marketers, who want to position their products as being politically correct, can also abuse “Green” as a buzzword. As has been the case with other certification bodies, so-called quazi –Green labeling might be used to lure more sales and users who wish to be perceived as environmentally friendly.
The Von Schrader Company has always diligently worked toward having products that perform as well as having the least amount of negative impact possible to our precious environment. This certification re-enforces the company’s commitment to addressing this issue.
This product meets Green Seal’s environmental standard for industrial and institutional cleaners based on it’s reduced human and aquatic toxicity and reduced smog production potential.
Very Low Moisture/ Low Moisture Systems
The rising cost of labor is making any productivity-enhancing technology
more attractive. Increasingly cleaning professionals and facility
management are looking for more efficient cleaning equipment and
supplies. Especially when it comes to carpet and upholstery extraction
cleaning.
While there is no questioning the deep-cleaning effectiveness of hot
water extraction, consider its downside. Problems can arise with the
very nature of the system: water, and lots of it. Especially in the
hands of the wrong (inexperienced) operator, over-wetting, and all
the problems that are associated with it. Regardless of the skill of
the operator, over-wetting problems are avoided with Von Schrader Low
Moisture Extraction Systems™ for carpet and upholstery.
Fast drying (usually in about an hour.) Minimizes downtime, especially
critical in institutions and other areas that may experience traffic
24 hours per day.
Safe, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-operate. The lightweight,
compact and portable equipment results in less user fatigue.
-
Faster production rates (square feet per hour) result in less labor
hours expended and substantial labor cost savings.
With more consideration being given to regular schedules of frequent
and selective appearance cleaning (high traffic areas) as opposed to
hot water extraction, maybe it's time to consider Von Schrader equipment.
Look us over. we think you'll agree; there are alternative extraction
systems available to the cleaning professional that aren't all wet.
But they sure are profitable.

Encapsulation - The Latest Trend?
The Von Scharder Company, manufacturers of the patented low moisture extraction cleaning systems for carpet and upholstery, were pioneers in the development of "encapsulation cleaning technology."
As developed by the company, encapsulating cleaning is a 2-fold system approach. Combining a low moisture extraction cleaning system with the highest quality anti-resoil detergents and polymers, dirt particles are suspended and efficiently extracted. Carpets stay cleaner longer as a result of minimal residual material.
After cleaning a facility is the carpet completely dried? Probably not. You might want to be aware that soil encapsulating crystals only form after all the water has been removed. Soil crystal encapsulation removal is something performed in subsequent vacuuming.
Von Schrader has always incorporated crystal dry down technology in all our cleaners. Von Schrader realizes the importance of formulating products that are not tacky and do not contribute to resoiling.
Encapsulation is and always has been present in all Von Schrader products. Detergents and solution encapsulate the oils and soils for immediate extraction. Any remaining moisture and encapsulated soils dry to a brittle polymer matrix which encapsulates soil in a dry, easily vacuumed, non-resoiling form
Woolsafe Seal

detergent formulas met the requirements of the Woolsafe Organization
(Br.) and have been awarded their seal of approval.
